Counselling or ‘therapy’ as it is commonly known, falls under the umbrella term ‘talking therapies’ and allows people to discuss their problems and any difficult feelings they encounter in a safe, confidential environment. The term can mean different things to different people, but in general, it is a process people seek when they want to change something in their lives, or simply explore their thoughts and feelings in more depth.
As a counsellor or therapist, it is not my role to sit you down and tell you what to do. Instead, I will encourage you to talk about what’s bothering you to uncover any root causes and identify your specific ways of thinking. We may then look to create a plan of action to either help you reconcile your issues, or help you to find ways of coping.
Have you had a recent difficult experience? Maybe you’re in the midst of one now? Perhaps you wish to explore your present situation in the here and now, or maybe you hope to reflect on your past experiences. I can work with you in your exploration, to support you to make sense of your feelings, thoughts, behaviours, and relationships. I offer Person Centred Counselling integrated with Hypnotherapy, CBT, Mindfulness and relaxation Techniques to help people to work through issues such as stress, depression, anxiety, bereavement, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, abuse, fears & phobia. As well as breaking habits such as smoking, drinking and unhealthy eating.
I offer sessions in person, on Zoom as well as walking talking therapy out in the fresh air.
